ACCENT

ACCENT- A distinctive way of speaking a language. The irony is, the word itself has different pronunciations, some say it AK-cent while others say AS-cent. Don't take it lightly because this very word with inconstant diction has the power to decide whether you are a literate or an illiterate in the eyes of the society.

How do you pronounce any word, is your 's' different from 'sh', are you applying the right amount of pressure on a letter of your spoken word and the list is neverending. To pronounce any word perfectly is undoubtedly a fine quality, but the question is how does one judge if any word spoken by him is perfect.
For example: SCHEDULE - UK:SH-edule
                                                USA: SKE-dule
and the queer thing is people debate among themselves on which is correct which definitely puts any learner in a dilemma. As for a society we belong to, speaking SKE-dule among people speaking SH-edule will certainly put you in the list of 'illiterate'.

So the confusion stays and time and again when I correct any acquaintance of mine or vice-versa this thing strike my mind- "How can I be sure that I am right?"

P.S- Well there are many which have a static pronunciation.

MORE THAN 'JUST FRIENDS' !!!

"What are we?"  asked her heart. As usual she couldn't answer, for she didn't know it herself. The golden memories of the moments that they spend together, the tickling feeling in her heart everytime she hears somebody callig his name, the fun they plan to do every weekend, the promises that they break for each other made to others, are these signs of being just friends?!
